7th/8th Girls Basketball

The Bethany Academy 7th/8th grade girls basketball team finished their season on Friday, Feb. 2nd with a nail-biter against New Life Academy. Coached by Alisa Ross and Kevin Peters, the girls were lead by the strong offensive play of Mireya Ross and the strong defensive play of Yancy Sanchez. The highlight of the season came on January 12th, when the girls won a tough victory over New Life Academy of Woodbury. Since almost the whole team was made up of 7th graders, expect an even stronger, more experienced squad next season!  Thank you, Coach Kevin Peters and Coach Alisa Ross for your time and commitment to our 7/8th Grade Girls Basketball Team!

5th/6th Grade Boys Basketball

It has been a fun season for the 5th-6th grade boys basketball team this year! We had ten boys play this year including six 6th graders and four 5th graders. It was exciting to see the significant improvement that each boy made throughout the season and how well they played together as a team. They displayed a “never give up” attitude and honored God in their conduct whether they won or lost. One example of this was a tournament game at the end of the season where we were losing by 15 points at halftime. The boys came all the way back to take the lead late in the game but ended up losing by one point. It was a difficult loss but the boys played hard and handled the defeat exhibited great character. We finished with a record of 7-4 on the season and next year it will be fun to see them continue to grow and improve on and off the basketball court-Coach Dan Quick.

Water Project

The elementary student council would like to challenge your family to drink only water for 14 days starting on Feb. 14 Track any money that would have otherwise been spent on a different type of beverage. Then bring that money to donate to the Water Project at Bethany Academy at the end of the 2 weeks.  Donations can be made by cash or checks payable to The Water Project. Funds raised will be donated to communities in need across Africa. The Water Project is a United States based 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization working to provide the developing world clean, safe drinking water to the nearly 1 billion people suffering needlessly. Direct any questions to Mr. Andrew Hale at
